The bite has been great and we have a surprise!!

The fishing this week has been good. We have been fishing with jigs and slip bobbers on the rocks. Casting plastics has also been working well near the wind swept points. The Yellow Bass have also started to pick up over the last few days. If we can get another warm spell the Yellows are going to be on fire. Yesterday Chris and his son had 50 plus yellows and 3 big whites fishing in 4 to 5ft along the rushes.

We have some exciting news!!!

Kevan Paul and Chris Scholl have decided to open a new bait shop in Clear Lake. We will be at 524 Hwy 18 East. CLEAR LAKE BAIT & TACKLE Inc.
The shop will have everything from Muskie gear to ice fishing houses. If you’re looking for a great place to shop this year give us a shot.

Its almost over!! BUT!!!!!!!

I can tell you that this ice season has been great. We have had some fantastic bites between Okoboji and Clear Lake. I want to say thank you to everyone that came to visit.

Its TIME!!!!!!! SPRING WALLEYES!!!!!!

It’s time to start thinking about spring Walleyes and Crappies. The last two years the spring fishing has been unreal. It doesn’t matter if you like Panfish or Walleyes, we will be able to put you on a great bite. The calendar fills up fast so I recommend booking sooner than later. My In-Store events over the next few weeks

My Schedule:
Dec. 19th and 20th I’ll be at Cabelas in Owatonna Minn. 8 to 2 daily
Jan. 2nd I’ll be at Bass Pro in Altoona Iowa 9 to 2
Jan 8th 9th and 10th I’ll be at the Des Moines Boat and Outdoor Sports Show. (seminars daily and I’ll have a booth) I’ll be doing a drawing for a guided fishing trip so please stop in and get signed up.

This fishing has been very good on Clear Lake but its shore and boat fishing at this time. Once we get ice its going to be lights out!! We have been taking large numbers of reservations because southern Iowa will not have much ice this year. This year like last year we will have 3 guides on Clear Lake so don’t be afraid to give us a call if your interested.

We will also be doing a lot of work at Okoboji this year. The bite at the IGL’S could be record setting!

Nov. 3rd Fishing / Deer Hunting

The last coupld of weeks I’ve been deer hunting and it has been awesome. I was very luck and bagged two bucks that both had double split G 2’s.

Back to Fishing!

The bite yesterday was slow at first but we finished strong. We picked up a nice eater Walleye mixed in with the 20 Yellows we kept. This winter is going to be amazing. There will be a killer bite on Clear for Crappie and Yellows with a few Walleye mixed in and the bite on Boji will be fun. We are expecting lots of Perch and Walleye over that way. The guided ice fishing calls have been coming in and things are shaping up well. If your looking for a guided trip this winter give us a call. The Fall Is Still Going Strong

This fall has been a great time on the lake. With ice fishing coming soon we have been working on key locations for Crappie, Walleye, Perch and Yellow Bass. Halloween!

The fishing is great and we have availability.

Over the last few days the fishing has really been good. We has been landing some beautiful Panfish and a occasional Walleye. The Walleye bite should really start to pick up soon with the cooler temps approaching. We have many open spots right now mostly weekdays but we do have a few weekend spots open over the next few weeks. If your looking for a fun bite with a good number of catching then I would recommend giving us a call. 50 to 100 fish days are not uncommon in the fall and it make a perfect trip for the whole family.

The fishing has been awesome. Piles of Yellows along with a Walleye or two. The Muskie bite is starting to pick up again with the cooler waters approaching. Ice fishing is right around the corner and we are booking many trips. If your thinking about doing a ice fishing adventure this winter please give us a call. During the winter we target Crappie, Gills, Perch, Walleye, Pike and Yellow Bass. We also have a new Wheel house for rent that will sleep 4 on the ice.

The Walleye bite on Clear Lake continued to be great last weekend. The morning bite was much better for us than the evening but both were good. We caught most of the fish on jigs and or slip bobbers.
I have a couple 4 hr spots open in the next few days otherwise we are full until the 29th of June. We are starting to do Muskie trips now and we are also doing some trips on Crystal Lake. The fishing on Crystal is awesome! Crystal is all about panfish, large mouth and Walleye. We have many open spots after the 4th of July. Feel free to call if you have more questions. Lots of Availability and its HOT!! 5-26-15

Hello everyone!! Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately. The fishing over the last month has been the best its been in years and its still red hot right now. We have Walleye and Crappie going on Clear right now and Gills, Bass, Walleye and Crappie on Crystal. Jigs with live bait have been my favorite tactic but pulling cranks can be very good also. Up until June 15 we have a lot of availability weekends or weekdays. June 15-22 we do not have anything available at this time. Muskie fishing is also starting to heat up on Clear and we will be starting those trips in a couple weeks. If you are looking for a good time to go out and catch some very nice fish now is the time. It really doesn’t get much better than this. Yesterday we landed 40 plus walleye over 16 inches with multiple over 20″.
