Over the last few days the local DNR has been gill netting for Walleyes and Muskie on Clear Lake. The numbers this year are great and the quality of fish are very nice. We are going to have a great season on Clear Lake and I can’t wait for the water to warm up this weekend. These pictures are from last night 4-16/17-2014. This Muskie is just under 40lbs! My open water season starts tonight! These Walleye will be on the chew for a couple months so if your interested get your dates picked out and give me a call.

1/9/14 – 1/12/14 was a very tough bite on West O.
Over the last few days I can honestly say that we got are butts handed to us. This was the worst weekend I have ever had. The good news is that it can only get better. We did manage to catch a few hogs. I’ll be going back over Wednesday to work on the bite for the upcoming run of trips. I’m going to try a couple different game plans and I do think they will pay off.
Clear Lake has continued to be good for Yellow Bass and Crappie.
Crystal Lake has been a hot spot for Gills and Crappie. Both of those lakes are located in North Central Iowa and a lot of fun to fish.
ICE REPORT!! The ice is great with little to no snow cover. 20 to 24 inches most everywhere.
Hot Bait. Clam Dingle Drop and a Maki Maki Pink.
Back home from the Iowa Great Lakes!
I’ll be honest with ya the fishing has been very tough but we will managed to stick some good fish. Everything should pick up after this next cold spell. The best area on Spirit was the east shore 17 to 20 ft and my panfish came from Minne in 11 fow.

Im pretty booked up for this week but I do have a few days open next week during the week. If your looking to just catch a bunch of fish give me a call. Im sure we can put you in the right spot.

The fishing has been pretty good over the last couple of weeks. The Walleye fishing is still slow but we have been catching some nice large mouth bass along with some great looking Clear Lake Musky. The Yellow Bass are also on the chew.
We are looking forward to this winter. This ice fishing season is going to be one to remember.
We have been booking many winter trips already and some weekends are going to fill very fast so if you have plans to visit KPGS this winter contact us soon.
The last couple weeks.
The fishing over the last couple of weeks has been great. Lots of Yellow Bass are being caught and also the Muskie are still going good. Most of the Yellows have gone shallow and the Muskie are not far behind. The Walleye bite has remained slow. We have been getting a few pulling live bait and cranks.
Cooler weather is on the way!
With the cooler weather on the way we will be back out Musky fishing next week. The bite has been great this year and we have been boating fish on almost every trip. If your looking for a fun Iowa Fishing trip give me a call. We can put you on numbers (panfish) or a Musky if thats what you want. We have two boats working Clear Lake and one on Coralville call today for more details about Kevan Pauls Guide Service.
Keep in mind that the Walleye bite will start to pick up in September.
Good numbers of Yellow are coming from shallow water. Run a small jig and live bait.
